There is a LOT going on at Rose Hill School, and it can be difficult for parents to get a handle on what they need to know, and when they need to know it! Below is a guide to the different tools we use to communicate.
Face to Face. There is no substitute for meeting face to face, and so this is something we encourage whenever possible. You can usually catch your child’s Form Tutor/Class Teacher at the end of the school day, but if you would like to arrange a specific meeting we will try our best to accommodate it. Feel free to contact the person you wish to meet directly, or come through the School Office, who will do their best to help.
Parent Portal – Our Engage Parent Portal is used for sharing pupil progress reports, timetables, medical incidents, emergency contact information and more. It is in effect a ‘library’ of all important communications and can be accessed by parents on any day and at any time.
Social Media – we use social media to share news about school life and what the children are up to on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
If you would like to update you permissions please email [email protected]
ParentMail – The school uses ParentMail as our main email communication tool. Emails can either be read in the app or in the inbox.
Website – The school website has a wealth of information on it including term dates, school menu, fees, Parent Association and calendar
The Newsletter – Each week, on a Friday, the school sends out the Newsletter via ParentMail.
This is where parents will find:
- Reminders for the week ahead, such as changes to pick up/drop off times, reminders about dress up days
- Details about events taking place
- Match results
We use of our News and Events section to post weekly HeadLines from Emma Neville our Head as well as thought pieces and exciting news and trips which the pupils are involved in.
Individual Emails – There will always be a need to contact individual parents in which case we will use email or give parents a phone call, in the first instance. Please note that all staff emails follow a standard format (first name, full stop, surname, @rosehillschool.co.uk – e.g. [email protected]).
Spond – We use Spond to deliver weekly sports notifications for the Prep School. Notifications are delivered on Monday evenings, informing you of, the team your child is in, the opposition, location and timings. Start times for events refer to when the match will start and finish times refer to when your child will be ready for collection from school.
Parent Advisory Group – the group of parent volunteers meet termly to discuss various aspects of the school. Parents are able to submit questions which the Head responds to. Answers are shared across the school community.
Form Reps – All year groups have a form rep who take on the voluntary role of sending out reminders to the year group. This might be about a trip, rehearsal, late return or a match.
