Applications are invited from a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and inspirational art and design teacher to join our team and lead the Art & Design Department. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner, teaching small classes of well-motivated children in a bright and vibrant environment.
The Art & Design Department
The Art Department at Rose Hill School comprises the Head of Department who teaches Art to pupils from Year 3 to 8: Art is taught in the PrePrep by class teachers. The department enjoys a superb, large, light, purpose-built room on the top floor of a classroom block, with good storage, and resources. The visual arts are highly valued at Rose Hill School, the department enjoys an excellent reputation, both internally and with the senior schools to which we send pupils and the display of pupil work around school is of an excellent standard.
Safeguarding
The post holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons, for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact, will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the School’s Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy Statement at all times. If in the course of carrying out their duties, the post holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the school s/he must report any concerns to one of the School’s Designated Safeguarding Leads or to the Head.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
