Step 2

Come and see us

The best way to understand Rose Hill School is to see it in action.
Attend an open day
Book a personal tour at a time that suits you
For younger children, try a Rosebuds session – our free pre-school playgroup that lets you experience the early years setting in a relaxed way

During your visit you will meet pupils and staff, explore the 16-acre grounds and see lessons, clubs and outdoor learning in progress.

Step 3

Register your child

If you would like to move forwards, the next step is to register.

Complete a short registration form
Pay a small, non-refundable registration fee (details provided with the form)

Registration confirms that you would like us to consider your child for a place in a particular year group and term.

Step 4

Taster day (and age-appropriate assessment)

To make sure Rose Hill School is the right fit for your child, we will invite them in for a taster session.

Nursery & PrePrep
Your child spends time with their prospective class, getting to know staff and routines through play and classroom activities
Prep & Senior Prep
Your child joins lessons, meets teachers and peers and may complete some light, age-appropriate assessments within the normal school day
The focus is on seeing your child as a whole person – their interests, confidence and how they respond to the environment.
Step 5

Offer of a place

Following the visit/taster day, we will be in touch to let you know the outcome.
If we are able to offer a place, your offer letter will clearly set out:

The start date
Any conditions (for example, year-group or funding details)
Deadlines for accepting the place and paying the deposit

You will also have another opportunity to ask questions about transport, wraparound care, uniform and co-curricular options.

Step 6

Accepting the place

To secure your child’s place, you will need to:

Complete and return the acceptance paperwork
Pay the acceptance deposit (offset according to the school’s terms and conditions)

Once everything is received, the place is confirmed and we will officially welcome your family into the Rose Hill community.

Step 7

Welcome pack & settling-in

Ahead of your child’s first day, you will receive a welcome pack with key information such as:

Term dates and daily timings
Uniform list and suppliers
Details of clubs, wraparound care and school transport

Where helpful, we will also:

Arrange transition visits (for example, from Nursery into Reception)
Share information about Rosebuds, Stay & Play or meet-the-teacher opportunities
Introduce you to SchoolTV and other wellbeing resources that support your child’s start.
Our goal is that, by the time your child walks through the gate on their first day, they recognise faces, know where things are and feel excited to begin.
