U10 Football Team come second in 5-a-side tournament
After 4 games, 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, the team finished second meaning that they progressed to the semi-finals. A tense 1-1 draw meant progression to the next round would be decided on penalties, a tough way to decide a match at any level, let alone at U10 standard. Some excellent shots meant we progressed to the final.
The team played New Beacon, a much bigger all boys school who had progressed from the same group as winners. Rose Hill School had to accept that they were beaten by a better side and were thrilled with their second place. A well drilled team, New Beacon contained 3 district players, played some wonderful football and were deserved winners.
Simon Hinchliffe, Head of Boys’ Games said “the boys did extremely well. The team was made up of both Year 4 and 5 boys, so to make it to the final and lose to such a large, all boys schools, just shows how hard they worked and how well they played”.
