Rose Hill School’s Equestrian Club

Date Posted: Friday 03 May 2024

Rose Hill School’s Equestrian Club is galloping into the spotlight, as one of our talented riders in Year 6 showcased their skill and dedication on the competitive circuit. Affiliated with the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA), her recent achievements highlighted her talent and commitment.

This month, she has achieved a remarkable feat, qualifying for the prestigious NSEA Hickstead Championship Festival in both the 60 and 70cm categories. Despite it being her debut in this style of competitive events, her fantastic performance secured her a well-deserved spot among the top riders in the country.

Adding to her impressive list of accomplishments, she continued her winning streak at the Cricklands Winter League Show Jumping Championships last weekend. With three double clear rounds under her belt, she clinched 5th place finish in the individual category. Not stopping there, she also showcased her teamwork skills by achieving a double clear in the team event, securing a commendable 6th place for her team.

Meanwhile, back at Ghyll Park Equestrian, 11 of our Rose Hill School riders, ranging from Reception to Year 4, have returned for after-school lessons. The atmosphere is filled with the joyful giggles of children as they embark on their equestrian journey, encountering the bouncy trot for the first time and developing a deep affection for their four-legged partners. Learning to ride at a reputable riding school not only hones their skills on different ponies but also provides more affordable access to what can be perceived as an expensive hobby.

The success of our riders is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of their families, coaches, and the school community. As they continue to represent Rose Hill School with pride and passion, we eagerly anticipate their future triumphs in the equestrian arena.
