HeadLines, Friday 15 March

Date Posted: Friday 15 March 2024

Dear Parents,

As another busy week at Rose Hill School wraps up, I find myself reflecting on the events from the comfort of my office, where at last some spring sunshine is streaming through the window.

Last week we heard from Year 6 as they presented their projects. It was great to hear the detail of their studies and the connections they had made. Year 6’s philanthropic project is fundraising for the Beseka School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and will end with a week of fund-raising and awareness activities, that we hope you’ll get involved with. Keep your eye on the timetable of events in the newsletter.

The Early Years wowed us with their Spring Assembly on Wednesday, filled with song and prose as their shared their learnings from the term. It was wonderful occasion, and most delightful to see our youngest pupils confident on stage. Year 1 enjoyed a trip to Chatham Docks and Year 2 enjoyed a day of Bushcraft skills although there were no bush tucker trials!

The School Council have trialled a number of new styles of backpacks which will now incorporate a water bottle holder. There were a number of styles but the decision was unanimous. The bags will be phased in for those who need to purchase backpacks from September. Thank you also to the School Council who delivered an excellent Red Nose Assembly this morning.

The School hosted a fantastic Open Morning this morning. The rain held off long enough for us to show lots of prospective families around the School. A big thank you to Year 8 who were involved across the morning.

We say good-bye and good luck to Mx Morgan, as they are off to work in a local nursery.

Best wishes,

Emma Neville
