HeadLines, Friday 8 November
Dear Parents,
Welcome back!
We ended half term with two amazing events, House Music Competition (Y3-8) and Run and Ramble, with everyone from Year 1-8 taking part. My thanks for Mrs Harrod, Mr Hinchliffe and all of the staff who spent considerable time preparing the pupils. The pupils were so excited to take part in both events, and we saw exceptional talent and commitment on stage as well as the sports field. It is a great community event, with a huge contribution from the PA – my special thanks to them for their woodland scavenge and pumpkin activities. The pumpkin designs were very creative!
The following morning a huge group set off for Porto on the most exciting football tour! The pupils’ behaviour was exceptional, and my thanks to all the staff for their enormous care and attention to detail throughout the trip.
One of the things I love most about my job is nipping in and out of lessons and observing the pupils’ learning across the School. It is always so heart-warming to see how engaged the children are and how proud they are of their School. This week has certainly been of no exception!
Congratulations to our U9 girls hockey team who did exceptionally well at the tournament at Lingfield College this week.
This morning Year 2 have set off to the War memorial to pay their respects. Year 8 have led our Remembrance Assembly with the support of Chamber Choir, the Cubs, Scouts, Brownies & Rainbows. I look forward to seeing many of you on Sunday at the Remembrance Parade where two Year 8 representative will be laying a wreath and the Cubs and Scouts will be taking part in the Parade.
Finally, you will all now be aware of our inspection this week. At this stage I am not in a position to feedback to you. The process takes about 6 weeks, after which I will send you a copy of the final inspection report. In the meantime, thank you all for your positive comments. The pupils were very well behaved and absorbed in their learning and keen to share their experience with the inspectors. I would like to thank the staff, whole heartedly for their hard work, and at every opportunity going above and beyond.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes,
Emma Neville
