HeadLines, Friday 8 March

Date Posted: Friday 08 March 2024

Dear Parents,

We have had a busy week! Here’s a snapshot of some of the things our pupils have accomplished this week.

🌍 World Book Week: This week, we celebrated the joy of reading with our annual World Book Week festivities. From character dress-up, book sale, to storytelling sessions, it was wonderful to see our pupils immerse themselves in the magical world of literature. Thank you to all the staff and parents who helped make this week a resounding success!

🕰️ Hands-On History Workshop: Our Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to step back in time with a captivating hands-on history workshop. Through interactive activities and immersive experiences, they delved into the World War II, enhancing their understanding of the past. It was fantastic to witness their enthusiasm and engagement in exploring history first-hand.

🎵 Recorder Festival: On Monday our budding musicians in Year 3 showcased their talent at the Recorder Festival. With melodious tunes filling the air, they demonstrated their dedication and passion for music. A big round of applause to all the pupils who participated and to our music department for nurturing their musical abilities.

🔍 Focus Day: Today marked our 4th Focus Day of the year, where pupils had the opportunity to engage in a range of enriching activities tailored to their interests and learning objectives. Among the highlights was Year 3’s birdhouse camouflage, Year 6’s World War II rationing and Year 8’s visit to Epping Forest, where they immersed themselves in nature, explored rivers, biodiversity, and learned about environmental conservation. It was a day filled with excitement, learning, and meaningful experiences for all involved.

🥕 Kindergarten visited Cherry Garden Farm, cut kalettes, and purchased some fruit before digging their hands into mole hills! Next week Year 1 are off to Chatham Docks.

As we continue to embrace a culture of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, I encourage everyone to seize every opportunity for growth and exploration. As a School we foster a vibrant learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to thrive and excel.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we build up to a busy end of term, I hope the sunshine continues and we see many of you at the Run and Ramble next Friday.

Best wishes,

Emma Neville
