HeadLines, Friday 5 January

Date Posted: Friday 05 January 2024

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a new year and new term. I hope that you have all had a restful and healthy festive break. Thank you for all your kind wishes and gifts. We love the start of a new term and once again, have a calendar full of exciting activities and events for our pupils.

Future Schools’ Fair is on Tuesday 30 January at 7pm, I would really like to encourage all our parents of children, particularly in Year 2 and above to attend what looks to a very informative event, led by Peter Goodyer, Head at Bede’s School. We have representatives from more than 20 schools. To register, please contact [email protected].

Selecting the right senior school is a pivotal decision that profoundly influences a pupil’s future trajectory. The importance of this choice lies in the school’s ability to shape not only academic prowess but also character, values, and life skills. A well-chosen senior school provides a nurturing environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

Beyond academics, the right senior school plays a crucial role in moulding a young person’s social and emotional development. It provides a platform for diverse co-curricular activities, fostering talents, leadership skills, and a sense of community. A supportive and conducive learning environment enhances a child’s self-esteem and confidence, contributing to their overall well-being.
Moreover, the reputation of the senior school can impact college and career opportunities, as esteemed institutions often attract attention from higher education and employers. The right senior school prepares students for the challenges of the modern world, equipping them with the tools necessary to navigate an ever-evolving global landscape.

In essence, the choice of a senior school extends beyond immediate academic concerns, shaping the foundation for a student’s lifelong journey, both personally and professionally. It is a decision with far-reaching implications, influencing the individual’s growth, relationships, and success in the years to come.

Our Future Schools’ Fair is a brilliant opportunity to speak directly to many schools and get a feel of the possibilities before narrowing down your choice. We encourage you to speak with us before or after the event, and we will be happy to guide you.

Next week all of our clubs begin and on Friday we have our Parents’ Breakfast, which I encourage you to attend and look forward to seeing you there.
