HeadLines, Friday 4 October
Dear Parents,
At Rose Hill School we are passionate about providing a creative, hands-on learning experience that makes education exciting, engaging, and, above all, fun for our pupils. We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved, exploring and discovering new concepts through practical activities that stimulate their imaginations and challenge their thinking. This week, right across the school pupils have been very active. In Nursery pupils have looked at how Elmer cleans his teeth. Year 2’s trip to Hever Castle and the Year 7 & 8 trip to Battle Abbey enlightened pupils’ understanding of life in times gone by. The first of six Focus Day’s got underway in the Prep School.
Pupils have learnt about their responsibilities, not only learning to look after yourself but knowing and understanding that what you do and say has an impact on our community and the world. Well done to Alex for playing the violin in assembly.
Next week this drive continues with STEAM week, and we take a closer look at super structures. Whether it’s building structures in STEAM lessons, creating vibrant art projects, or experimenting with different materials in science, our focus is on learning by doing. These hands-on experiences not only deepen children’s understanding but also develop critical skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and resilience. Years 6 delved deep into the poor living conditions of the Favelas, trying to decide how to change the inequalities of their community. By engaging all the senses, children become more confident, curious learners, ready to take on new challenges. Our U11 hockey team take up the challenge this weekend!
Moreover, we are dedicated to ensuring that this approach supports the progress and development of every child, allowing them to reach their full potential in a stimulating environment. When learning is fun and relevant, children are motivated to succeed and enjoy their journey along the way.
Our motivated Year 7 & 8 have taken up the £10 challenge and this afternoon demonstrated their business acumen as well as their fund-raising awareness at the Enterprise Fair. All fundraising will go towards Porchlight.
Thank you for your continued support as we nurture a love of learning that will last a lifetime.
Best wishes,
Emma Neville
