HeadLines, Friday 23 February
Dear Parents,
The week has been full of exciting teaching and learning opportunities, a big thank you to all the staff for their hard work. Our pupils have been fully immersed developing their critical analysis, strategic thinking and creative skills. Prep School pupils are working hard on their project work and this week has seen planning, research, communication and curiosity! Our Curriculum has come alive from the very youngest to the very oldest in the School.
This week Year 7 were programming the ‘sphero bolts’ with different speeds and distances. Reception have investigated recycling including the uses of elephant poo! I particularly enjoyed observing Poo Bingo when someone stated ‘whose poo is this?’. Year 2 are focusing their attention on the diversity of Australian culture and Year 3 are in full swing with their project work as they research rainforest animals.
On Thursday we celebrated Baden Powell’s 167th Birthday celebration with the time-honoured tradition of chocolate cookies. Well done to our U11 Netball team, who came home with the Plate on a very wet Thursday from the IAPS tournament.
Huge thanks to the PA for organising the Upper School Film Night and Middle School Escape Room. More pupils than ever took part and enjoyed these social events.
We have a number of events on the horizon including Book Week, Parents’ Evenings, PA Leap Year Quiz, the House Art Competition deadline, Neurodiversity Week, a number of class assemblies and trips to support our academic studies. Thank you to all those who attended Coffee Connections this morning – anyone still considering supporting the Parents’ Association should speak to their class rep.
Best wishes,
Emma Neville
