HeadLines, Friday 19 May
Dear Parents,
Orchestral Week is inspirational, and uplifts our wellbeing with so many musical events for the children. Every morning we have enjoyed live music from Mrs Harrod and our Visiting Music Teachers. A big thank you to Axelle and Madeleine for contributing and playing so wonderfully.
On Wednesday we held our first Lower & Middle School Concert. A huge success for the music department as it has grown so much under Mrs Harrod! The rich repertoire enables pupils to extend their skills and be inspired.
French Day kicked off with a terrific assembly from 5C, there are lots of activities taking place across the school today including a delicious lunch served by Becky and her team.
‘Walk to School Week’ was embraced by many, thank you. As a school we make a concerted effort to walk each day and reduce our environmental footprint where we can, please support the cause and continue as much as you are able. The Advisory Group will be asking for your support for our sustainability cause.
Well done to our valiant cricketers who played so well last Saturday, exceptional skill and sportsmanship demonstrated throughout and to those who visited the Maths Race at Schools at Somerhill. Well done to all our skiers and triathlon competitors for doing so well last weekend. Thank you to all the parents and staff for your support.
I look forward to seeing you all at our Founder’s Day celebration, marking the School’s 191st Birthday. This is a celebration of past, present and future with demonstrations and exhibits around the school. Thank you to all of the pupils, staff and parents for their support, particularly the hard work of Mrs Dellar and the PA.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Best wishes,
Emma Neville
