HeadLines, Friday 15 November
Dear Parents,
This week, our School joined in marking Anti-Bullying Week with an important message focused on respect. The theme this year, ‘Choose Respect’, reminds us of the critical role that kindness, inclusion, and empathy play in building a positive school environment where every pupil feels safe and valued.
Throughout the week, including ‘odd sock Tuesday!’ pupils participated in a variety of activities designed to reinforce the values of respect and understanding. From discussions in class to role-play scenarios, our aim is to help pupils understand the impact of their words and actions on others. We want each member of the community to know that they have the power to make a difference by treating everyone around them with dignity and kindness. The Anti-Bullying committee introduced our new friend ‘Buddy’ to the school. Buddy has been making his way around the classrooms.
In support of this theme, we encourage conversations at home about respect, the importance of being an ally, and standing up against bullying. Let’s work together to instil in our young people the confidence and compassion to create a welcoming environment for everyone.
On Monday Year 6 enjoyed a action-packed day “experiencing” what we offer in Year 7 & 8, many thanks to the staff involved and the parents for joining us at the end of the day. On Tuesday evening we had the first of our informal Recital Concerts, where we were entertained with a wide and challenging repertoire. The pupils’ hard work and resilience shone through along with their ever-growing talents. My thanks to the many parents who supported our evening, to the pupils and visiting music teachers. Most of all my thanks to Mrs Harrod who enables our pupils to develop their skills and talents.
Thank you for your continued support as we foster a respectful and inclusive School culture, not just this week, but every day.
Best wishes,
Emma Neville
