HeadLines, Friday 13 October

Dear Parents,

Firstly, well done to our U10 Hockey team who won the Rose Hill School Tournament last Saturday. Exceptionally challenging play, executed with skill and tenacity!

Celebrating STEAM Week, our curriculum is not simply a collection of subjects: ‘Compass’ represents an interdisciplinary approach to learning that fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation, and this week has been no exception! Our aim is to cultivate inquisitive minds that can tackle the challenges of an ever-evolving world, even when handling African animals in Year One! By providing our pupils with hands-on experiences in STEAM-related activities, we are nurturing a generation that is not only well-prepared for the future job market, but also capable of addressing global issues through innovative solutions.

Incorporating AI technology into our curriculum further empowers our pupils to thrive in the digital age. STEM and AI education promote diversity and inclusion by breaking down gender and racial barriers. We encourage all our pupils, regardless of their background, to explore these fields, fostering an inclusive learning environment that celebrates differences. AI is a fundamental component of modern society, influencing various aspects of our daily lives. Teaching students about AI not only demystifies this technology but also prepares them to harness its potential responsibly. Through age-appropriate projects and activities, our pupils will develop an understanding of AI’s capabilities and find innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

We encourage parents to engage with their children in STEM and AI activities at home. Simple experiments, coding projects, and discussions about technology-related topics can enhance your child’s learning experience and strengthen the parent-child bond. Together, as a community, we can nurture curious minds, inspire creativity, and pave the way for a brighter future.

Thank you for your continued support in our mission to provide quality education. If you have any questions or would like to get involved in our STEM and AI initiatives, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Best wishes,

Emma Neville
