Dear Parents,

Rose Hill School wishes to express our deepest sympathy to all the Royal Family at the death of Her Majesty, the Queen. This is an historic moment. One tinged with inevitable sadness at the loss of our much beloved Queen but also a moment in which we can all reflect on the incredible impact she has had on so many lives during a truly momentous reign. It is impossible to sum up in just a few words the incredible leadership, strength and fortitude the Queen has shown to people of all ages right across the world, or to list the achievements and milestones she has recorded. For generations of children passing through our school, the Queen has been ever-present.

Many children who were just starting their school days when she was crowned in 1952 are now retired themselves and have grandchildren, if not great grandchildren, studying in our school today. After the immediate grief has passed at the passing of a Queen who will be remembered forever, our school will play a role in ensuring that her achievements and legacy to this country and its people are never forgotten. We extend both sympathy to King Charles III at the loss of his mother, and our very best wishes for a long, healthy and happy reign.

The first week back at school is always an exciting time for everyone. We have enjoyed welcoming all of our returning pupils and so many new pupils as well. We are back in action for another term of teaching and learning.

I hope you have had time to look at our new website. The format of our Friday newsletter has changed slightly but you should find all the essential information below this post.

I was delighted to see so many faces at our information evenings. The timing of these events is always difficult to plan, but for those unable to make it, please look out for your ‘Welcome Letter’ from form tutors and/or class teachers, as this holds a wealth of information. Our calendar and newsletter also holds our essential information.

Well done to the pupils who have taken the Kent Test this week, you have all worked very hard to get to this point.

Best wishes

Emma Neville, Head
