Curriculum 2020: pupils enjoy a third Focus Day
Our third Focus Day was another inspiring and exciting experience for our Prep School pupils. Year 3 enjoyed a day focused on religion, specifically the prayer rituals of Christians, Muslims and Hindus. They made miniature prayer mats, Diva Lamps and Rosary Beads and they learned how to practice the prayer rituals themselves. Year 4 had a great day out at Wilderness Woods creating land art and building dens. Year 5 spent the day travelling the globe, learning about different countries and preparing persuasive presentations to convince holiday makers to travel to their various destinations. The standard of the presentations was excellent and congratulations to Team Chile who won the day’s competition, judged by Ms Neville and Mrs Ritson.
Year 6 spent the morning walking the picturesque (and very steep at times!) Tunbridge Wells Circular footpath, learning how to read OS maps and compasses and paying close attention to geographical points of interest along the way. In the afternoon they learned more about National Parks and presented their new knowledge to their classmates. Years 7 & 8 enjoyed an historical chronological costumes activity followed by a gripping Victorian murder mystery challenge!
Thanks to Mrs Scarbrough, Mrs Moore, Mrs Bains, Mrs Nicoll, Ms Bowers and Dr Tuck for organising such enjoyable and educational immersive learning experiences.
