HeadLines, Friday 25 April

Date Posted: Friday 25 April 2025

Dear Parents,

A very warm welcome to Summer Term 2025! A special welcome to a number of new pupils and staff. We congratulate Miss Styles, as her family grew with the birth of Florence. We welcome Miss Orr, who is covering Miss Styles’ maternity leave.

Our term has got off to an amazing start with a Year 5 trip to the Tunbridge Wells Mosque and a discussion with the Iman. Year 1 have enjoyed Dinosaur Day where they went in search of a dinosaur egg and today we celebrated French Day, with a fantastic assembly by Year 7 who shared with us important historic French figures.

We have some super events coming up this term, as you will see from our online calendar. Many events are for both the children and yourselves and we hope that you will get involved. Firstly, Wellness Week (Tuesday 6 May) opens with Mrs Whatman’s WAKE UP session on the Astro and in assembly Mrs Scarbrough, will be talking to the pupils about looking after your physical and mental health. As many of you will be aware Wellness Week involves a number of workshops and visiting speakers. The timetable can be found in the newsletter.

We also have Science Week, Orchestral Week and Founder’s Day is on 17 May. This year we are celebrating the ‘past, present and future’ focusing on our pupils’ talents and is a community event with a huge range of showcasing events, along with our fantastic and much-loved Parent Association Summer Fair. Please have this date in your diary and get involved.

The Summer Term holds plenty of opportunity for our pupils. The main sports are cricket, athletics, swimming and tennis but with over 60 club options available, the Rose Hill School Co-Curricular programme offers something for all pupils no matter their skill level or interest – I have encouraged all pupils to ‘have a go’. Please look out for further information on Wellness Week, Founder’s Day and Orchestral focus.

Our fingers are crossed for the Green Goblins who are racing this weekend! Thank you to Mr Izzard and Mr Agnew!

Best wishes,

Emma Neville
