HeadLines, Friday 14 March
Dear Parents,
It has been another fantastically busy week at School with plenty of exciting events and activities taking place.
Thank you to Lilly, Farrah, Toby, Thomas and James for all performing in assembly on Monday – what a terrific start to the week.
Our week has been dominated with the House Art Competition – and what a fantastic gallery we have with such diverse ideas, exploration and experimental art – truly wonderful creations. The ‘hands on’ approach to our learning cements concepts, enabling strong progress. The junk modelling inspired House Art Competition is, more than ever, full of the most amazing creations from pupils right across the school and the exhibition is in the Atrium. Thank you to Mrs Anderson-Goldup and all the supporting staff, pupils, and parents.
Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic day with The Didgeridoo Man on Wednesday. He taught the children about Australia and how to understand the different sounds of the Didgeridoo. The children listened to Dreamtime stories and learnt how to tell a story through Aboriginal symbols when creating their own Aboriginal inspired artwork.
🔍 Focus Day of Activities: Today marked our 4th Focus Day of the year, where pupils have the opportunity to engage in a range of enriching activities tailored to their interests and learning objectives. Among the highlights are Year 3’s Home Tweet Home, Year 4’s passport to France, Year 5’s The Purpose of a Mosque, Year 6’s Trip to Chartwell, Year 7’s Innovative STEAM Day and Year 8’s visit to Epping Forest, where they immersed themselves in nature, explored biodiversity, and learned about environmental conservation. You can see the adventure in our Compass curriculum is truly broad and diverse. It was a day filled with excitement, learning, and meaningful experiences for all involved.
As we continue to embrace a culture of curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, I encourage everyone to seize every opportunity for growth and exploration. Together, let’s continue to foster a vibrant learning environment where every pupil can thrive and excel. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in our shared mission of nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders.
Enormous thanks to Mrs Dellar and the PA, along with Nikki’s excellent catering at our annual quiz. We were utterly challenged and entertained by Mr Lazarides – thank you for taxing our brains!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Best wishes,
Emma Neville
