HeadLines, Friday 10 January

Date Posted: Friday 10 January 2025

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a new year of growth and discovery! We hope you all enjoyed a restful and rejuvenating festive break. Thank you for your warm wishes and thoughtful gifts—they are greatly appreciated.

As we embark on this new term, we are energised by the opportunities ahead. Our commitment to progressive education ensures that we continue to provide dynamic and engaging learning experiences for our pupils. This term’s calendar is brimming with activities and events designed to inspire curiosity, develop character, and foster a lifelong love of learning. Our celebrations have already started: Monday 6 January is ‘l’Epiphanie’ or ‘la journée des rois’ which commemorates the visit of the three Wise Men to baby Jesus. It’s traditional in France to eat ‘la Galette des Rois’. Our super Catering Team created this king’s cake, so that we could mark this occasion. Our Reception classes have been out and about in the woodland tracking ‘Winnie the Witch’s’ storytelling, and in full costume!

Future Schools Fair – Tuesday 28 January at 7pm
Choosing the right senior school is a pivotal step in shaping your child’s future. It’s about much more than academic success – it’s about finding an environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity, builds resilience, and instils the values and skills needed for a rapidly evolving world. Our Future Schools’ Fair offers an invaluable opportunity to explore these possibilities. With over 20 schools represented, including insights from Dominic Mott, Head of Hurst College, this event will equip you with the knowledge to make informed decisions for your child’s educational journey. I particularly encourage parents of children in Year 2 and above to attend.

To register, please contact Clare Rowton at [email protected]. We are also here to support you before and after the event with personalised guidance tailored to your child’s aspirations.

Why This Decision Matters
The choice of a senior school is a cornerstone in a young person’s development. It shapes not only academic achievement but also character, leadership, and life skills. The right environment fosters self-confidence, nurtures talents, and provides a sense of belonging, preparing pupils to thrive in both the present and the future.

Our Future Schools’ Fair is your opportunity to connect with schools directly, ask questions, and gain clarity on what each has to offer. Together, we can help you navigate this critical decision to ensure the best fit for your child.

Parents’ Breakfast
To continue fostering our vibrant school community, it was great to see so many at our Parents’ Breakfast this morning. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow parents and staff. If you missed it, then we look forward to welcoming to Coffee Connections on Friday 7 February.

With a terrific ISI inspection under our belt, here’s to an inspiring term ahead as we continue to move forward with our mission of providing a transformative and future-focused education for every child.

‘Save the Date’: Saturday 17 May – Founder’s Day

Best wishes,

Emma Neville
