Year 8 trip to Rockley Watersports Activity Centre

After lunch we started to learn to sail. The three lessons we learnt on the water were that the boom hurts, seawater is cold and the wind does not compromise! After sailing each day there were evening activities which were fun. These included an egg drop (or watching England in the World Cup), archery and a treasure hunt. On the third evening we went to a water park which was great fun too, followed by a trip to Burger King and a sweet shop.
We loved staying in the caravans and looked after them well. Everyone really enjoyed the trip, even those who got cold and wet on the Wednesday after capsizing several times. By Henry and Jolyon.

Year 6 Geography trip to the River Cuckmere and Seven Sisters Country Park.

12 March 2020

Whilst the heavy rain did make the trip via Alfriston village a little tricky it also served to highlight the spectacular meanders and creeks of the River Cuckmere’s floodplain in the Spring sunshine and allow the ‘New Cut’ to be in full spate and speed along to the sea at low tide. As it did so the fast-flowing water actively undercut and eroded the shingle beach causing mini land or ‘shingle’ slides before our very eyes.
