Year 4 trip to the British Museum
Year 4 have been studying Ancient Egypt in History this term. To support their studies they visited the British Museum last Friday.
We first spent half an hour in the gallery containing the Rosetta Stone and many other Egyptian artefacts.
We then moved upstairs to visit the three galleries containing the collection of Egyptian mummies. This was a useful introduction to the illustrated talk on mummification given in the education centre. It was fascinating to discover what the latest scanning machines reveal about the mummified remains.
We returned to the upstairs galleries for a further looked at the mummies before departing for Rose Hill.
