Year 4 explore the British Museum
Year 4 visited the British Museum last Friday.
The children first explored the Egyptian exhibits in Room 4, looking out for the Rosetta Stone.
We returned to the Education centre for a well-attended presentation on Egyptian mummies. Year 4 answered lots of questions and enjoyed some of the gory details!
After lunch, we spent the rest of our visit in the Egyptian galleries upstairs trying to identify all the mummies, human and animal, who featured in the talk.

It’s been a busy week full of book related fun. To kick off Book Week The Library hosted a Book Hunt for the Prep School on Monday which saw the children hunting high and low for a selection of titles. On Tuesday it was Pre Prep’s turn as they took to the Astro to hunt for favourite book characters—I’m glad to say the glum weather did not dampen their high spirits! Prep School have been designing bookmarks during their library sessions with some fantastic designs created by our artistic pupils.

On Thursday, 9 November Year 7 went on an Art trip to the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. After a bus journey to Eastbourne College we had a delicious lunch in their canteen. We then walked a short distance to the Towner Gallery which is located right next to the College. It wasn’t hard to miss as there was an amazing mural painted on the side of the building, in all sorts of shapes and colours, celebrating the Towner’s 10th Anniversary.
