Year 4 Geography Field Trip

Box Hill was the location for Year 4's focus day in geography. Juniper Hall was an ideal location to start our hike using bearings to take us up the hill to an ancient folly, through deciduous forests and back to the start. After orienteering we learnt how to use symbols and direction to find clues around the site. Finally, we had a quick go at geo-caching using GPS to help us find clues. The sun shone and the autumnal trees were at their best. A fun day filled with learning for all.

Year 6 Geography trip to the River Cuckmere and Seven Sisters Country Park.
12 March 2020
Whilst the heavy rain did make the trip via Alfriston village a little tricky it also served to highlight the spectacular meanders and creeks of the River Cuckmere’s floodplain in the Spring sunshine and allow the ‘New Cut’ to be in full spate and speed along to the sea at low tide. As it did so the fast-flowing water actively undercut and eroded the shingle beach causing mini land or ‘shingle’ slides before our very eyes.
