Year 1 Rose Hill students go in search of mermaids!
A fun time was had by all on our first ever Y1 trip to Hastings, supporting our new Creative Curriculum topic on“ Beaches and Boats”.
We loved exploring the pebbly beach where the old fishing boats rest, visited a fascinating Fishermen’s Museum tucked in amongst the old net shops, braved the heights of the UK's steepest funicular railway, played games at the top of the hill with amazing views over the historic town, and tried to ignore the glares of the greedy seagulls as we munched our way through delicious packed lunches in the sunshine. Yes, Mr. Booth Jones. the sun really was shining in Hastings as promised, but sadly we did not manage to spot the lovely mermaids you told us all about! Maybe next time...
