Year 7 trip to Canterbury Cathedral

Year 7 have been studying the murder of Thomas Becket in History and visited Canterbury Cathedral as part of their studies.
Despite a longer than usual journey, thanks to Mr Booth Jones missing a turning, Year 7 arrived in good spirits and enjoyed a 20 minute film on the history of the cathedral. Our tour guide then took us around the cathedral giving us lots of information about the architecture and key events in its history.
After lunch in the grounds, we then completed our worksheets before heading home. Fortunately, Mr Booth Jones’s map reading was better on the return journey!

Year 6 Geography trip to the River Cuckmere and Seven Sisters Country Park.

12 March 2020

Whilst the heavy rain did make the trip via Alfriston village a little tricky it also served to highlight the spectacular meanders and creeks of the River Cuckmere’s floodplain in the Spring sunshine and allow the ‘New Cut’ to be in full spate and speed along to the sea at low tide. As it did so the fast-flowing water actively undercut and eroded the shingle beach causing mini land or ‘shingle’ slides before our very eyes.
