Year 6 trip to Verulamium
A great day was had by Year 6 at the Roman Museum in St. Albans. There were lots of exhibits to look at but most people agreed the top three highlights were:
The huge display of Roman coins
The skeletons and coffins in the ‘Room of Death’
The amazing mosaics with such beautiful designs, representing HOURS of work!
In the market activity we learnt that shopping in Roman times might not have been so different from what we know today.
Even the weather stayed fine, so we were able to enjoy a picnic in the park, followed by a visit to the fantastic mosaic with its hypocaust, still in its original place…all 220,000 tiles of it!
A walk round the atmospheric ruins of the old Roman theatre rounded off a successful visit. Well done, Year 6!

Rose Hill School today celebrated the official opening of their new indoor pool with a visit from the Rt Hon Greg Clark. The sun shone and the pupils provided an excellent drum roll for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

On Friday 25 May, twenty-seven excited Year 6 children accompanied by: Mr Draper, Mr Long, Mr Hinchliffe, Mrs Makinson, Mrs Warran-Smith and Mrs Morgan arrived at school for a 07.15 departure to St Omer, France.
