Year 1 trip to Maidstone Museum

Year 1 had a fantastic trip to Maidstone Museum. Travelling on our very first coach trip, we arrived at the newly extended education centre. After a look around the Ladybird Exhibition which featured original illustrations from the world famous books, we set about creating our own stories using i-Pads. Thinking about a beginning, middle and end the children used the backdrop of the museum and its displays (including a real Egyptian Mummy) to create and act out a story using the Ladybird characters.
A great morning out, which captured the imaginations of all 30 children and the accompanying staff.

Immersive Learning, Focus Day 4

04 March 2022
It’s been a busy week full of book related fun. To kick off Book Week The Library hosted a Book Hunt for the Prep School on Monday which saw the children hunting high and low for a selection of titles. On Tuesday it was Pre Prep’s turn as they took to the Astro to hunt for favourite book characters—I’m glad to say the glum weather did not dampen their high spirits! Prep School have been designing bookmarks during their library sessions with some fantastic designs created by our artistic pupils.
