Visit from Author Tom Scott

Rose Hill pupils were joined by author Tom Palmer on Friday 19 October. Tom writes books which deliver a number of key messages or life lessons through the medium of sport. Tom’s latest book the Armistice Runner follows a Cross Country running girl who unearths a number of her Great-Grandfathers diaries from his time in WW1. Tom spoke to pupils in Year 2-8 about his motivation for writing, his research into the war and his passion for sport and writing.

It’s been a busy week full of book related fun. To kick off Book Week The Library hosted a Book Hunt for the Prep School on Monday which saw the children hunting high and low for a selection of titles. On Tuesday it was Pre Prep’s turn as they took to the Astro to hunt for favourite book characters—I’m glad to say the glum weather did not dampen their high spirits! Prep School have been designing bookmarks during their library sessions with some fantastic designs created by our artistic pupils.
