Rose Hill's first Basketball team

This week we took part in our first ever basketball match. A squad made up of boys and girls from year 6-8 hosted a triangular match versus Uplands and Solefields. The pupils were understandably nervous as they have only been playing since half-term. Our pupils soon settled into the game and realised they were more than a match for the opposition. Excellent all-round team play saw Rose Hill pip Uplands to the post with and 18-16 victory. It was straight back onto court for our second match, this time against Solefields. Solefields are a well-established team and have entered the IAPS national competition for a number of years. We did really well and narrowly lost the match by two baskets, 22-18.
Well done to all our players, you all contributed to the success we had.

It’s been a busy week full of book related fun. To kick off Book Week The Library hosted a Book Hunt for the Prep School on Monday which saw the children hunting high and low for a selection of titles. On Tuesday it was Pre Prep’s turn as they took to the Astro to hunt for favourite book characters—I’m glad to say the glum weather did not dampen their high spirits! Prep School have been designing bookmarks during their library sessions with some fantastic designs created by our artistic pupils.
