Rose Hill U9A boys' hockey team scoop bronze

The U9A team were thrilled to scoop bronze at last week's district hockey tournament.
Rose Hill School U9A boys’ hockey team were thrilled to come third last week in a district hockey tournament hosted by Ashford Prep School. The event was well attended and twelve schools from the area competed for the title of district champions. With schools such as Kings Rochester, Junior Kings, Kent College, Saint Ronan’s, Sutton Valance and Dulwich all in attendance, the standard of hockey was very high.
“The team played well from the start although it was difficult to know if they had got through to the semi-finals with so many games taking place at the same time! The semi-finals was a tough match against Saint Ronan’s with plenty of action and a last minute winner which saw Saint Ronan’s win the game 2-1” said Graham Russell, Hockey Coach at Rose Hill School.
The 3rd and 4th play-off match was a tight affair with the boys eventually finishing 3rd and receiving a bronze medal.
Emma Neville, Head of Rose Hill said “This was an excellent opportunity for the boys to play in a competitive tournament as they all learnt a great deal during the day. The boys were a credit to the school in terms of both their behaviour and play, well done, we are all very proud of your achievement”.
