Rose Hill School HSBC SchoolBank

“The SchoolBank provides our Upper School pupils with key life skills such as commitment and responsibility as well as imparting the important message of saving” says Imogen Scarbrough.
Working with the local branch of HSBC, Year 7 & 8 pupils are given roles and responsibilities including Branch Manager, Marketing Manager and Customer Services Officer and Cashier. Year 7 & 8 pupils then help Rose Hill pupils in the Prep School open their own HSBC account.
The Prep school pupils are encouraged to regularly save their money however small an amount which fosters a life-long skill of saving.
Twenty-two pupils have opened accounts and deposited savings in the first year. The second year of the project is off to a successful start with the new team having applied for and been given their roles.

Year 6 Geography trip to the River Cuckmere and Seven Sisters Country Park.

12 March 2020

Whilst the heavy rain did make the trip via Alfriston village a little tricky it also served to highlight the spectacular meanders and creeks of the River Cuckmere’s floodplain in the Spring sunshine and allow the ‘New Cut’ to be in full spate and speed along to the sea at low tide. As it did so the fast-flowing water actively undercut and eroded the shingle beach causing mini land or ‘shingle’ slides before our very eyes.
