Pupils and parents watch the 'Seagulls' soar!
On Saturday 11th February over 50 staff, parents and pupils from years 5 and 6 travelled to the Amex Stadium to watch Brighton and Hove Albion take on Burton Albion. There was much excitement on the minibuses as we all knew that a Brighton victory would send them to the top of the Championship, even if for a few hours.
A quick visit to the club shop saw pupils emerge with a variety of items in the traditional blue and white of Brighton. Taking our seats it was time for kick-off.
On a very cold afternoon littered with snow flurries both teams started slowly. Brighton eventually broke the deadlock and entered the half time interval one goal to the good.
Pies, hot chocolate and hot dogs were the order of the day to keep us all warm at halftime and before we knew it the teams were back onto the field of play. Brighton emerged a different side and the pace of their play increased significantly. Brighton went on to provide a 'goal fest' and leapt to the top of the league thanks to a 4-1 victory.
Everyone had a great time, with one parent commenting:
"Jack for one has never been to a proper football match and may not otherwise have had opportunity to do so. It was a lovely idea and a nice chance for him to get someone to one time with his dad alongside his friends. He thoroughly enjoyed the experience."
Thank you to all the staff and parents who attended the trip. A huge well done to all of our pupils. As always you were a credit to the school.
