ISI Report

The Independent Schools Inspectorate is the body responsible for the inspection of schools in membership of the Associations that make up the Independent Schools Council. They are approved for the purpose of inspection under the Education (Independent Schools Standards) Regulations, 2014, and report to the Department for Education on the extent to which schools meet statutory requirements.

Rose Hill School was inspected in September 2021 and received a glowing report. Across all measures, inspectors judged Rose Hill School to be ‘excellent’. The ISI report stated that the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements, and personal development is excellent, in addition “all groups pupils make rapid progress from their various starting points.

We’re exceptionally proud that ISI went further and stated the following:

“pupils’ creativity is highly developed from an early age. They display excellent skills in art and music.” They also said that our pupils “are kind and respectful, behaving politely and thoughtfully…show(ing) excellent confidence and self-esteem.” ISI

ISI inspection is for the benefit of pupils and seeks to improve the quality and effectiveness of their education, and of the care for their welfare.

What is the ISI?

The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is the body approved by the Department for Education for the purpose of inspecting schools belonging to the Independent Schools Council (ISC) Associations and reporting on compliance with independent school regulations.  ISI inspections are also carried out under arrangements of the ISC Associations for the maintenance and improvement of the quality of their membership.

ISI inspections judge schools to be either ‘unsatisfactory’, ‘sound’, ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ and then make recommendations as to where schools can further improve. They focus on pupils’ academic and other achievements, and their personal development.

The ISI website gives more information on the different types of Inspection.
