IAPS Small School Rugby 7s Tournament
With teams from all over the country the 1st VII played extremely well to come third. After losing to The Downs (Worcestershire) 19-7 in their first match, they then won their next two group games against Haselmere Prep (Surrey) and Beeston Hall (Norfolk).
Ranked third going into the quarter finals they beat Perrott Hill (Somerset) before once again coming up against The Downs. Leading by two tries they couldn't hold on and eventually lost 19-10. In the play off for third place, a tired Dorset House (West Sussex) were comfortably beaten.
Congratulation to The Downs the eventual winners and a superb effort from all our boys.

Whilst the heavy rain did make the trip via Alfriston village a little tricky it also served to highlight the spectacular meanders and creeks of the River Cuckmere’s floodplain in the Spring sunshine and allow the ‘New Cut’ to be in full spate and speed along to the sea at low tide. As it did so the fast-flowing water actively undercut and eroded the shingle beach causing mini land or ‘shingle’ slides before our very eyes.
