The football season is underway...

This week saw the commencement of the football season at Rose Hill School. Nine of our teams were in action against local opposition in the form of Sevenoaks Prep and Claremont Prep. In soaring temperatures more suitable for cricket than football, all of the boys applied themselves admirably and were a credit to the school. Though the results may not have gone our way there were encouraging signs that the boys were starting to implement the new ‘passing football’ philosophy we are trying to implement. The team cohesion and effort by all sides was outstanding and it bodes well for the future. We may not have won as many games as we would have liked but we played and conducted ourselves in an outstanding manner.
Well done boys. We are all very proud of you.
Team of the week: U9 C’s winning 1-0 at Claremont

Year 6 Geography trip to the River Cuckmere and Seven Sisters Country Park.

12 March 2020

Whilst the heavy rain did make the trip via Alfriston village a little tricky it also served to highlight the spectacular meanders and creeks of the River Cuckmere’s floodplain in the Spring sunshine and allow the ‘New Cut’ to be in full spate and speed along to the sea at low tide. As it did so the fast-flowing water actively undercut and eroded the shingle beach causing mini land or ‘shingle’ slides before our very eyes.
