Folly Wildlife Rescue Centre visits Year 1

Year One enjoyed their Marvellous Middle to their Alice in Wonderland topic. We have looked at the animals in the story and this week our focus is comparing the characters to real British wildlife.
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Betty who works at the Folly Wildlife Rescue Centre, a local charity dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of injured, orphaned, and distressed wild animals and birds.
Betty showed us lots of photos of the animals that they have helped recently. We even got to see a real life hedgehog who had been found underweight and is being nurtured back to full health before being returned to the wild.

Year 6 Geography trip to the River Cuckmere and Seven Sisters Country Park.

12 March 2020

Whilst the heavy rain did make the trip via Alfriston village a little tricky it also served to highlight the spectacular meanders and creeks of the River Cuckmere’s floodplain in the Spring sunshine and allow the ‘New Cut’ to be in full spate and speed along to the sea at low tide. As it did so the fast-flowing water actively undercut and eroded the shingle beach causing mini land or ‘shingle’ slides before our very eyes.
