Art trip to Mayfield School
We went to the school in a minibus to Mayfield School where we were greeted by the ceramics teacher and a group of children from Skipper's Hill. We looked at the sixth formers’ art on display in the reception area and then we headed for some lunch.
After lunch we went down to the art department and split into two groups; one group went upstairs to create fish collages whilst my group went downstairs to the ceramics room.
The teacher guided us through the steps of how to make a life like clay dog. We wrapped fresh clay round bubble wrap and then added a head, legs and tail. Then we started to sculpt out the shape of the muzzle, body and paws of the dog. We spent a long time adding detail like the eyes, ears, brow and spine before putting it to one side for firing.
After a chat with the teachers and a look at the other pupils’ art we went home.

When we found out this year's Junior Production was 'Mary Poppins', we felt excited about what part we would get and how rehearsals would go. Rehearsals started straight away and we realised it wasn't going to be as easy as we thought! It was going to be tough and we would need to work very hard!

On Thursday, 9 November Year 7 went on an Art trip to the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne. After a bus journey to Eastbourne College we had a delicious lunch in their canteen. We then walked a short distance to the Towner Gallery which is located right next to the College. It wasn’t hard to miss as there was an amazing mural painted on the side of the building, in all sorts of shapes and colours, celebrating the Towner’s 10th Anniversary.
