What are the main entry points to the school?
The main intake is in Kindergarten (32 places) and there are also limited places in Year 3 (aged 7) and Year 7 (aged 11).
Will my son/daughter have to sit an entrance test?
There is no formal entry requirement but your child will be asked to come into school for a taster day and there will be an informal assessment.
What is a Taster Day?
A Taster Day involves a prospective pupil spending a day with their "class" and following their timetable. It is our intention to make it an enjoyable experience.
Are there regular Open Mornings or should parents make individual appointments to visit the school?
Parents are encouraged to make an appointment and come and visit the school. There are 'Open Mornings' but they are by invitation and for parents who expressed an interest in the Rose Hill.
If my son/daughter joins school in the Kindergarten will she be expected to attend full-time?
Kindergarten is intially 5 mornings in the first term but builds up over the course of the year to 3 full days and 2 morning sessions .
Kindergarten Admissions Process?
Generally pupils join the kindergarten in the September following their third birthday.
Should my son/daughter have attended a nursery or playgroup before joining Rose Hill?
This is not a requirement, however many of our pupils have attended a nursery prior to joining us.
What extra-curricular provision is on offer for my son/daughter?
We offer a variety of activities both during lunchtime and after school. After school activities take place between 4.15-5.15pm and these are mainly on offer to pupils in Years 3-8. Some activities are chargeable for example Dance, MTech and Judo. Year 2 enjoy a limited after school clubs programme until 4.45pm and there is after school care provision until 5.15pm for Reception and Years 1&2
What extras do I have to pay for over and above the termly school fees?
We offer a variety of activities both during and after school. Some of these are chargeable extras including After School Care.
What after school care provision is there?
After School Care is available for pupils until 5.15pm for pupils in Reception and Years 1&2. There is a charge of £6.00 per session.
Are the pupils taught by specialist teachers?
Pupils from our Kindergarten upwards are taught by specialist teachers. These include Music, swimming, ICT and PE. In Years 3 and 4, pupils are increasing taught by subject specialists Music, Art, DT, ICT, Geography, RS and PE and in Years 6-8 all lessons are taught by subject specialists.
Can I pay my fees by direct debit?
Fees can be paid termly or monthly by direct debit. This can be arranged with the Bursary but is only available to parents with a UK bank account.
From where can we purchase uniform?
Uniform is available from our on-line, from our uniform shop and from Symmonds in Tunbridge Wells. All details will be provided in due course, for any queries regarding this, please contact the school office on 01892 525591.
