School Information

The school is situated in eighteen acres of beautiful grounds adjacent to the green belt, but within five minutes of the centre of the town. It has modern, purpose-built facilities which include a multi-purpose sports hall and Arts Centre. The layout of the school allows a smooth and secure transition between year groups and our size (just over 300) ensures a vibrant community, but one in which each child is known and given personal attention.

Children are prepared for entry to the independent and maintained sectors at 11+ and 13+. Small classes and the progressive use of setting in the core subjects ensure individual attention and the fulfilment of academic potential. Sport and the creative arts are highly valued. Hockey, netball, cricket, rounders, athletics, football and rugby are the main team games supported by a range of individual sports. There is a junior and senior choir, a school orchestra and many children receive instrumental tuition. Two major drama productions occur every year and the music department holds summer term concerts for children from Kindergarten to Year 8. A thriving art department celebrates the children's work with regular exhibitions. A full range of extra-curricular clubs, including Brownies and Cubs, ensures breadth of experience and enriches the curriculum.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

to provide a quality all-round education for all pupils which enables them to reach their true potential within a secure environment. Based on clear Christian principles, children are encouraged to meet new challenges with confidence
